MASTER SEAN KAVANAGH

BAGUA ACADEMY FOUNDER

Sean Kavanagh is master and director at Bagua Academy International. He began Qigong and martial arts as a teenager. Sean has over 10 years teaching experience with 25 years of experience in Qigong and martial arts. He has researched and studied internationally; living and studying in Japan for a decade. He is a grand student of Jiang Rong Qiao; the famous grandmaster of Bagua and Xing Yi. Sean began training at Professor Wong Lun's Wu De Hui school in Melbourne where he learned Qigong, Tang Shou, Wugong and Tui Na. Sean was taught Taoist Qigong and meditation prior to any physical training.

While in Japan he studied martial arts; gaining a black belt in Judo - while researching Jiu-Jitsu, Karate and many other styles of Japanese martial arts. Sean studied at one of the world’s most famous martial arts schools; the Kodokan Judo Institute. Judo training in Japan was strict and rigorous at the time; this experience gave Sean the insight to further enter the Internal Arts. Upon completion of studies in Tokyo and travelling through Asia to research, Sean returned to Australia and discovered Bagua.

Sean trained with Sifu William Ho at the Australian Taoist Kung Fu Association and was qualified to teach Qigong, Bagua, Tai Chi, Xing Yi, Internal Martial Arts and meditation. He is graded at 6th Dan in the Taoist Kung Fu Association. He has also completed his Master Trainer at the Australian Institute of Fitness; with Certificates 3 & 4 in Personal Training. Sean trains committed students in Bagua and Xing Yi for self protection and is passionate about helping people improve their lives with Qigong; developing the body on multiple levels.
